Marketing can be tough, especially when you're already juggling the demands of running a business. But here’s the thing...it’s important to remember that there’s always a positive side to marketing!
If your campaign didn’t go as expected, you’ve gained valuable insights on how to refine and redirect your efforts. If your post didn’t get much attention, you’ve learned more about how to better target your audience next time. Marketing, especially on social media, is often about trial and error—even famous companies experience it!
Take, for example, the infamous Leonard v. Pepsico, Inc. case. In the 1990s, Pepsi ran a commercial jokingly offering a Harrier Jet for 7 million Pepsi Points. John Leonard took it seriously and tried to claim the jet. Pepsi refused, Leonard sued, and the court ultimately sided with Pepsi, stating it was clearly a joke. And while your campaign may not lead to a Netflix documentary like this one, there’s always a learning experience to be had.
